Dom DeLuise He Was All Heart

The world is greatly saddened with the passing of one of America’s most beloved entertainers. Dom DeLuise died Monday night at 75 after a long illness.

We are all familiar with his many appearances during his decades-long career in movies, especially many Mel Brooks films, on the stage and on television variety shows – The Garry Moore Show and Dean Martin’s comedy-variety show. In his later years, Dom, a gourmet chef, shared his recipes and family memories with two books he wrote, EAT THIS, AGAIN! and EAT THIS TOO! IT’LL ALSO MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER

We were honored to interview Dom DeLuise eight months ago on www.sedonatalkradio.com. (The interview was co-hosted by Joanna Paxinou and Sonya Haramis, M.Ed. and can be heard online on AT THE MOVIES WITH JOANNA and KEEPING THE PATH LIT.). It was a delight to speak with Dom and share his stories and humor. And after the interview, we were so pleased that many listeners told us the same thing – “I love Dom DeLuise!”

A humble man, an extremely talented performer, and a great man with a huge heart who adored his family, Dom DeLuise was touched that he still had so many fans. We’re sure the world mourns his passing. But we still have him on air and on film. We can still enjoy his humor…and perhaps more important, we can honor his life.

We were truly honored to have had the opportunity to talk to such a loving, heart-filled, special human being. It was a gift we will always treasure and never forget. Truly, he was ‘one of the greats’.
